Suggest Treatment For Strep Throat And Ear Pain

2 days ago I fainted. I am going to try to give as much information as possible. I am 19 years old, 164 lbs, in Florida. The night before I fainted I started getting sick, approximately 4 pm. I first felt a sore throat, then an hour later I felt like 40 lbs of weight had been added on to every part of my body. Sore throat got worse over the next few hours, started to get an ear ache in my left ear, started to feel slightly nauseous. Right before I went to sleep, at approximately 11 pm, I felt like I was going to vomit. I ate an ice pop and this feeling went away, I laid down, extremely tired, and didn t sleep all night long. All night I felt like I was exhausted, but I never managed to fall asleep deeply, I was out for maybe 10 minutes at a time. I woke up at 7:30 am. I got up, and automatically felt like something wasn t right. I go to college and I live in a dormitory, I started walking down the hallway and I started seeing colors, waves, and dots, in the way that you see when you close your eyes and push on your eyelids with your fingers, the way children sometimes do, they were yellow and orange, and I knew that wasn t good. I had felt vertigo before and fainted one time when I stood up too quickly from vertigo, but that was 3 years ago and I know what caused that, that time I was lying down and tired and just jumped up and then resisted the urge to tilt my head down when I knew the feeling of vertigo just to see what happened, and then I fainted. Other times I would just tilt my head down, and it would go away. So it was the same kind of feeling, like blood wasn t getting to my brain vertigo type of feeling. Except with blurriness and colors and waves and dots superimposed in front of what I was actually seeing. So when I saw this, remembering the vertigo feeling from a long time ago, I got on my knees and knelt my head down to the floor and waited for it to go away. It did, I walked down the rest of the hallway to the bathroom, but the vertigo feeling was still there just much weaker. Then I got to the bathroom and started urinating, I still saw the colors and dots and waves and everything, they never really ever went away during this whole ordeal, so I used the bathroom, and at some point fainted. I hit my head on something, most likely the toilet, and then the floor. I know this is important so I will try to be as concise as possible with time, I was peeing in a standing position, I woke up on the floor, in a pool of my own urine, but still peeing, so in my opinion, I couldn t have been out for anything more than 15 seconds, because I was still peeing, on the floor, with my head on the floor, laying there. Immediately upon regaining sovereignty over myself I got up and attempted to finish peeing, I couldn t have been standing up for more than 5 or 6 seconds before I fainted again, hit my head on either the walls of the stall or the toilet on the way down, then hit the floor. Again it couldn t have been more than a couple seconds, because I woke up not peeing anymore but still had some urine inside of me, I got up slower, peed a tiny bit more, then started walking back to my room, soaked in my own urine. I must have looked drunk to anyone in the hallway, this is college that is the automatic assumption, because I was swaying from side to side in the hallway as I walked. I should point out that I had not drank alcohol in 5 days and that I do not do drugs of any sort, and that I have no medical history of any kind of disease, no diabetes, etc., no epilepsy, I hope I m not omiting something that would be important. So I get back to my room, lay down, and I feel like my body is 10 degrees Fahrenheit. I was freezing, freezing, yet sweating a lake onto my bed. I had terrible cold sweats for about an hour, and chills that would run up and down my whole body. This is out of order but I forgot to mention earlier that the night before, when I felt a ton of weight on my body and got the sore throat, while I was nauseous right before going to bed, I was getting chills that ran up and down my body, but I felt fine, not hot or cold, just chill-type reactions, I hope that makes sense. Like when people s hair stands up on the back of their neck. That kind of chill. So I got that again the next morning, but also cold sweats, after fainting. That slowly went away. I drank some fluids. I should also point out that I felt the previous night like I had a fever, but didn t check. And I felt like I had a fever all morning and all day after fainting, but never checked. All day I stayed in bed, it was hard to move around, every time I tried to switch laying positions I felt slightly vertigo-ish. Sorry for my improper English. It s the best description. About 10 hours later I went to the Urgent Care Clinic. There I was diagnosed with strep throat. They said that the fainting could be caused by my body already being weak.. EKG was normal, vitals normal, no sore throat. I felt fine that evening. Hoping for any explanation.Thank you

ENT Specialist 's  Response
From the history my diagnosis would be acute tonsillopharyngitis, most commonly cuased by strep, which can cause fever with chills with weakness, that explains your dizziness. No need to worry as your symptoms have gone now.Drink fluids preferably warm and take rest.
