Hi, My daughter of 4 years is having Diarrhoea..wiki - type 6. This started on Friday.. She had Enterogina for 3 days which eased it a bit, but today she's back to day 1. She has major cramps followed by light pasty stolol. She's also on Taxim-O coz she has a bad cough. I gave her Dorolac powder 1 sache in the morning. Nothing's getting better yet. Donno what to do. How much of Dorolac can she have and when can I expect it to get better ?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi dear
welcome to the HCM.
My opinion is to stop the cefixime salt the child is taking. Which may be the cause of nonresponding loose stools.
Stool culture and sensitivity to be done to know the exact bug causing the loose stools.
We can start ofloxacin syrup along with some probiotics. This may take care of cold cough and loose stools also.
Hydration to be maintained by plenty of ORS and other liquids.
Avoid juices
Hope the query is answered.
thanks
