Suggest Treatment For Stomach Bloating And Blood In Stool

My husband had bloody stools once when he went to the bathroom today. Tummy felt a little uneasy yesterday afternoon but other than that has had no pain. Stool,was pretty much just blood. What could be the cause? Should he wait to see if it continues before seeing a doctor?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of stomach bloating and blood in stool. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like

- constipation
- irritable bowel syndrome
- intolerance to dairy products or other food items
- eating too fast
- overgrowth of bacteria in the small bowel
- giardiasis

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid food like dairy products , drink warm water. You should do light exercises and eat light and non spicy food. If condition doesn't get well then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe H2 blockers , proton pump inhibitor along with antibiotics and anti inflammatory .
