Suggest Treatment For Squint In A 11 Year Old

Hello Dr. we had shown our 11 year old son to the Ophthalmologist, as per him he has moderate squint, the squint is evident when he is tired, if not you can not not make it out. We are doing Yoga with him everyday to strengthen his eye muscles, I am not in favor of a surgery, I did read a lot about Bates method. Please let me know is Surgery only alternative. Regards

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hi and welcome ti HCM,
From your description it seems that your son has intermittent squint.
The first step is to get him refracted and prescribed proper eye glasses.
Surgery is only advised, when there is residual squint even after the use of eye glasses.
In the meanwhile you can continue with the yoga and other nonsugical methods.
All the best !!!

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, squint in this age could be due to muscular weakness or refractive error, ophthalmologist tried it with spec and it gives good results and if fails then surgery is the option hope this information helps.
