Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has an enlarged spleen with pain and symptoms. We have had several consults/scans/bone marrow bx/periphearl blood smear with no diagnosis. He is heparin induced thrombocytopenic, status post two small strokes and SMA clot repair in 2004, and pneumonia before this splenomegaly. We need help.
HI Well come to HCM There are several medical conditions which causes splenomegaly and common some of then are anaemia, chronic malaria, some chronic infections, malignancy, liver disease, cardiac disease, if the spleen is really big enough can causes some discomfort then this is to be removed but this is rarely happens, else this does not cause anything danger, hope this information helps, take care.
