Suggest Treatment For Sore Wrists

I rode a mechanical bull and after my wrist was sore. today hurts to supinate wrist on ulnar aspect also when moving it left and .right. Been using ice and compression and resting it. How long should I wait to see if its just a sprain before getting xray Didn't fall on it or hit it on anything.
