Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat, Sinus Headache And Occasional Foul Smell

I woke up this morning with a really sore throat, sinuses, and a sinus headache. I used my neti pot and it broke something loose that I had no choice but to swallow. Since yesterday, I have noticed an occasional foul smell, but after I knocked whatever that was loose this morning, it has increased dramatically. Went to the immediate care and it s not a sinus infection. The smell is so awful! I have been using my sinus rinse and putting lavender oil under my nose but that only masks the smell for so long... Help!

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Irritation of olfactory nerve (nerve for smell) also can give such feeling. Avoid using netipot. Your problem could be upper respiratory infection. It can be managed initially with nasal decongestants , NSAIDs and anti histamines. Taking vitamin C, warm fluids like lemon tea , warm chicken soup with pepper all helps. If there is no improvement then approach an ENT specialist for detailed examination and antibiotics if required.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
