Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Swollen Lymph Nodes

Hi, I recently went to the doctor's about two weeks ago about a sore throat. They only tested me for strep, which came back negative, and sent me away saying that it would go away on it's own. Well it has still not gone away, and I was wondering what else it might be. My symptoms are swollen glands and tonsils, white and red spots on tonsils and back of throat, difficulty swallowing, and exhaustion and weakness.
