Hi! I´m suffering from a little throat ache that started just one day ago, nothing special. But when I lay down in my bed for sleep my body starts doing a very weird swallowing reflex. This reflex forces me to swallow very frequently against my will. The longer I lay down the faster the reflex repeats itself and finally I woke up to a swallowing seizure or something. It literally forced me to swallow violently once per second and I was completely helpless and felt like panicking while I was not able breathe. This seizure went on for maybe 6 seconds until it slowly transformed into a gag reflex and finally lead to vomiting. I look pale and the throat ache continues but when I stay awake in a upright position I am able to resist this weird excess swallowing. I do not experience noticeable excess saliva production.
