I have sleep apnea, I ve already had the home test and the overnight study done. I m waiting on my coal machine. I was just wondering if sleep apnea can make ur hands and face go numb? Cause my hands and face go numb all the time. I ve already been told that my lungs and stuff are in good shape.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi Sir/Madam
Welcome to Health Care Magic

I can certainly understand your concern about your problem . The symptoms experienced by you seems to be sleep paralysis which is commonly associated with sleep apnea
, Which occurs in REM ( rapid eye Movement) stage of sleep , mainly due to overlap of REM and awakening stage that prevents acting out of your dreams. So I would advise you some natural methods like try to avoid sleeping in supine position and try to maintain regular sleeping hours. You can start on drugs like SSRIs ie escitalopram or tricyclic antidepressants like Tryptomer . I would like to know how is your apneic problem on CPAP machine?...And consult your Psychiatrist for further guidance

Post your further questions if any, I will available to take up your follow up questions

Thank you
