Both of my upper arms are hot, red, and looks like hives. I am withdrawing from methadone. I had a car wreck back in June and it fractured 5 ribs and I have major back pain but I want to end the pain medicine and I did it myself (are trying to) so I took a little piece of suboxone today. I feel like that was a mistake I started feeling worse so I took one methadone then about a three to fours hours later when I got settled in at home I took a hot bath.I am also prescribed Neurontin, but I rarely take those just when im haven some pain when im trying to go to sleep but tonight I took 600mg and now I feel all hot and red with hives on my chest and mostly on my upper arms. Please help I dont want anyone to know my business so thats why I am asking you!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of skin hives which are due to excessive heat, cold, environmental change, insect bite , pollen and some plants, pressure and sun exposure . It is the body's response to the trigger factor. Need not to worry. The most important thing is to find the trigger factor. I would suggest you to give cold compresses to hives several times a day to prevent from swelling and itching and take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl. If symptoms still persist the consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment. Doctor may prescribe other steroid cream, anti inflammatory drug or drugs that can suppress immune system. Doctor may perform skin test and challenge to find out the trigger factor. Stay in cool environment.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
