Hello and welcome to HCM,
Dark coloration of skin can be due to tanning of the skin.
Exposure to sunlight is the cause of tanning.
Tanning of skin is basically a protective action to prevent damage caused by ultraviolet rays.
Tanning takes a long time to revert back.
You can prevent tanning by preventing exposure to sunlight by wearing sun-screen and other preventive measures like wearing full sleeves shirts, using an umbrella, etc.
However, a clinical assessment by your primary healthcare provider is required to assess whether the darkening is due to tanning or it is due to hyperpigmentation.

Thanks and take care
