Suggest Treatment For Sinus Tachycardia

I was diagnosed with sinus tachycardia almost 2 months ago and put on 100 mg of tenormin daily. Overall it has controlled my heart rate but it still spikes around 120 at several times throughout the day and when I start to excercise shoots to 170 so I stop in fear of it soaring too high. Should I see a cardiologist?
