Suggest Treatment For Sinus Infection And Acid Reflux

To whom it may concern, I have been suffering for about six months with some strange symptoms but cannot figure out if it is coming from acid reflux or from sinuses. I have been suffering from many sore throats, Pressure in my face, like having a sinus infection, and have noticed a drastic change in my breath that is lasted a few months. It is definitely worse in the morning.I ve gone to the dentist and I have no decay or even gingivitis, but I m not sure if it s coming from the sinuses or my stomach. I ve been taking medication for acid reflex, but it doesn t seem to be changing. I m not sure what to do at this point what type of doctor to see.could you please share your thoughts with me.

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

If your sore throat is due to sinusitis then you will require to take antibiotics, antihistamines, antiinflammatories with nebulizers and steam inhalation.

If this repeated throat infection is because of acid refulx which is known as GERD.

For gastroesophageal reflux disease,

You will need drugs with some precautions and this combined effect will helpful to you.

You may require proton pump inhibitors(lansoprazole) with prokinetic drugs(cisapride, mosapride, levosulpride) which actually increases stomach emptying time along with effect on gasteoesophageal sphincter.

Apart from medication you need to follow certain listed things
1) Avoid oily, spicy and high fiber diet.
2) Avoid eating with full stomach rather you eat small frequent meals.
3) Avoid taking rest for 2 hours after meal.
4) You can walk slowly up to first 2 hrs of meal but don't walk fast.
5) You made regular eating pattern.
6) Have your dinner before 8 pm so that at the time of sleeping your stomach will be empty.
7) Do yoga regularly.
All this cumulative effect will be beneficial to you while treating for the GERD.

You should consult physician for further advise.

Thanks
