Hello and welcome to HCM,
The sharp pain under the rib cage can be due to musculoskeletal cause or can be pleural in origin.
Your doctor has diagnoses the condition to be musculoskeletal in origin.
Have you take treatment for muscular pain in the past six months?
If the treatment has not relieved the pain, then probably it is not due to musculoskeletal cause.
Pleura is the double covering of the lungs.
Infection or inflammation of the pleura can lead to sharp stabbing pain in the chest.
Pleural pain is usually associated with breathing movements, it aggravates with movements.
I suggest you to consult your physician or pulmonologist for clinical assessment and relevant investigations to look for exact cause of pain.

Thanks and take care
