Suggest Treatment For Sharp Pain In The Middle Back

My husband (whom has Ehlors Danlos type 7 or 8) took a really hard fall on his back. When he hit the ground it was mainly on his left side. Since the fall, he has been complaining of a sharp pain in the middle of his back (away from his spine) above his kidney, only on the left. I need to know if we need to be concerned about this pain? Will it go away on its own?

Hi,
The fall would have resulted in a paraspinal muscle strain. He would require over-the-counter analgesics and local application of warm packs. If the pain is increasing or he is experiencing other additional symptoms such as weakness in the limbs, he should consult a physician as soon as possible. The muscle strain will take some time to heal.
