Suggest Treatment For Sharp Pain In The Mid Abdominal And Pelvic Area

Hi Dr. I ve been having rather sharp pains mid-abdomen, right side, into my right upper hip/pelvis. Started about 5-6 hours ago, and is getting sharper/stronger pain. Sharp (wincing) pain comes for a while then subsides. I just thought it s indigestion from the holiday days, or the waistband way too tight on the jeans. But, better to check in now that I read about more serious possibilities. Cindy

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I admire your positive outlook and congratulate you for the attitude.

Now I guess you have right lower quadrant pain

There are lots of pathological causes responsible for it.

However, let me give my opinion here.

As per your history is concerned if I were your treating doctor my opinion will be to ruled out Acute Appendicitis first, so do it today by your local doctor and he will do clinical examination and treatment is surgical after clinical examinations.

For this you need expert's guidance by a surgical specialist.

Hope this helps.
