Suggest Treatment For Sharp Pain In The Back

My husband is feeling a sharp pain in his back. It s more to the right and around his shoulder blade? He went to the emergency here in Dallas and they took x-rays and blood test but they didn t find anything so they prescribed muscle relaxers and Ibuprofin. Neither medication helped. I feel so bad for him I don t know what to do?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If the pain is of short duration like for a day then take some analgesics like Paracetamol. If the problem persists for more than two to three days, then consult an orthopedician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suhas Chauhan
