my 24 year old daughter in law has been vomiting for 4 days- has been to ER and to regular doctor, CT scan found nothing, blood work nothing. She is trying to drink pedialite but vomits, tried a little applesauce but vomited. Anti nausea med doesn t seem to be helping much. What could the cause possibly be?
Hi, Vomiting can occur due to ailments of abdomen or brain. Persistent vomiting without any cause may occur if anything is wrong in gastrointestinal tract or brain. It is better to give adequate fluid replacement. Electrolytes in the blood should also be monitored. The most important thing is to diagnose the underlying cause. Meanwhile, patient may be given domperidone, rabeprazole and stemetil to relieve the symptom.
