Suggest Treatment For Severe Upper Back Pain And Neck Pain

After a bad car accident that flipped my car in the air my seat belt broke and I landed on my neck love the area between my head and my shoulder on the side since then I have been having really bad upper back pain as well as neck and head pain I have developed a large lump at the base of my neck and not sure what to do about it or what caused it

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe upper back pain and neck pain . Well it is very important to find out the exact cause of neck stiffness and correct it . Neck stiffness can occur due to may reasons like muscle strains , nerve compression , Injuries ,diseases, cervical spondylosis and Certain diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis . Trapezius muscle problem can also be one of the reason. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper diagnosis . Doctor will examine physically , ask you to do certain movements and may order CT scan . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant and may recommend specific exercises . Acupuncture will also be helpful. For now do stretching exercises and start physical therapy of neck . Doctor may also recommend physical therapy . In severe case doctor may recommend surgery .
