Suggest Treatment For Severe Stomach Pain And Intestinal Pain

I have a high rdw 15.5 and a low ALT Sgpt at 5.... i have chronic stomach pain and weekly intestinal pain. I also show innumerable symptoms of an autoimmune disease/ disorder. EGD and Colonoscopy shows gastritis, tortuous colon, and small lesions on small intestine. Are all of these things correlated? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

All these symptoms of stomach pain or intestinal pain could be due to stomach upset and your RDW and SGPT value does not having any clinical significance here.

Stomach upset is likely due to gastritis (even your EGD and colonoscopy was also suggestive of it) or gastroenteritis but here there is no need to worry as it can be cured by medications and diet.

No need to be worried about tortuous colon or small lesion and I will not think about the possibility of connection between them.

You should go for routine blood tests and stool examination with ultrasound abdomen if not done previously.

Meanwhile, you should take antacids (pantoprazole) available over the counter with antibiotics (ofloxacin with ornidazole) and symptomatic treatment.Your nearby GP may prescribe it.

Avoid oily, spicy and non-veg foods for at least 3 to 5 days and must not take alcohol.

You will feel better within 3 to 5 days of this medications.

If symptoms persists then see gastroenterologist who may advice you upper GI endoscopy and will give you further advice accordingly.

Regards,
