Suggest Treatment For Severe Shoulder Pain

I have been having a pain (usually sharp) just below my left shoulder blade. On occasion it becomes more like pressure (like a vise) from the shoulder blade spot all around to just below my left breast. This has been going on for close to 2 weeks, even though I regularly take a fairly strong opiod for chronic pain and have for 10+ years. It seems to get worse when I m lying down.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
A keen examination of your shoulder may be needed to know the exact cause of your pain. However, no matter the cause, treatment options for such pain may include: different lines of pain drugs depending on pain intensity, myorelaxants, steroids ocassionally, physiotherapy.
I will suggest you try the following:
-A pain drug like aceclofenac
-A myorelaxant like miorel
-A local pain gel like voltarene gel for massage
If pain persist, you see the Doctor for examination.
Hope this will help
Best regards
