Suggest Treatment For Severe Sharp Chest Pain, Heart Burn And Breathlessness

Hello! Considering that I am 19 years of age, I have been experiencing severe sharp chest pain for about a year and a half now! This pain just feels like a heart attack but not, obviously. It is very sharp along with shortness of breath, heart burn, and pain when I breath in deeply, move my left arm up and even when I tilt my head up/down/ sideways, and stretch. Sometime when I want to lay down, it would bother me too. I have consulted with my doctor and simply perscribed me acid reflux suppression since this is something I have since a child but I don t believe this is the problem. I have my thoughts on certain things it might be but then again I am not the doctor ☺️ What should I do, should I be deeply concerned do these symptoms mean anything serious?

You have not described whether the pain persists for all the day through. If the pain occurs mainly at empty stomach or about 2hr after taking food its most likely to be due to acidity problems. Proton pump blockers like pantoprazole 40mg once daily at morning for 20days will help you to get rid of such problems for a long time. Use of sucralfate also helps. If these problem persists for a long time its necessary to do a ultrasound if there is any ulcer formation and a h pylori test. Proper diagnosis will help better management if the symptoms are not being controlled by proton pump blockers.
If you are normotensive, nondiabetic and nonobese the cardiac problems are quite unlikely at this age. But an ECG is recommended to detect if there is any anginal problems if pain occurs mainly after exercises.
Musculoskeletal pains or costocondritis also cause such sharp localized pain increased in changing posture. But these pains respond well on oral analgesic wit rest and dont last for one wk or more. If there is a cough and the pain occurs mainly due to respiration the pain may be due to pluritic origin which have to be confirmed clinically.
Its recommended to to an ECG and take pantoprazole for continuous 20days. Meals should be taken more frequently to avoid a chance of empty stomach.
