Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Hips

I was playing soccer and fell very hard on my right hip. Now, I cannot walk without extreme pain in my right hip. It also hurts a lot when I am laying down and am just trying to move either leg. Even when I move my left leg, my right hip hurts just as bad as when I move my right leg. Putting any stress or pressure on it hurts terribly as well. It also hurts very badly when I touch it. Sometimes the pain feels like all the muscles in that area clench up at once.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain in the hips due to injury . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like tendonitis , arthritis , trochanteric bursitis and hip fractures . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may check ability to walk , joint motion and order X-rays , computed tomography scans and MRI . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory , along with vitamin supplement for quick recovery . Doctor may recommend complete bed rest and in severe cases doctor may recommend surgery like hip replacement surgery . For now take proper rest , stop playing until it gets normal and sit in warm tub for 15 minutes daily . Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
