Hi Barbara, thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. The jaw pain with headache could be due to many reasons. I am mentioning all those with few details. You can correlate your symptoms and reach unto some conclusion and then better
consult doctor.
: Tooth/gum disease - Tooth decay/infection can cause both. In such condition, usually patient develops sensitivity to hot/cold food, more pain at particular tooth area while eating. You can also examine your teeth/gums for any black spot, bleeding, excessive foul breath, gum swelling.
Consult dentist for it.
: Jaw
osteoarthritis - It is uncommon but still it can occur. It presents as pain at jaw joint on either or both side, more on moving jaw/chewing, sometimes stiffness also occurs in morning while opening mouth.
It can be confirmed by X ray of Jaw joint. Treatment is painkillers and rest to jaw by eating
liquid diet for sometime.
: Old injury right temple/jaw area - It can present as pain if it again got injury. Sometimes persistent severe pressure can cause such type of pain. It should get relieved after rest, applying warm compresses at pain site. It can be suspected after ruling out other disease.
:
Cervical spondylosis - It can be suspected as your pain was also going towards right hand also. It can cause pain radiation from neck to head and hand, sharp current like pain, more on flexing neck/lifting weight. It is a common problem after 60 years due to
osteoporosis.
Kindly consult neurosurgeon for it. Avoid neck flexion by using neck collar. Avoid weight lifting even more than 5 kg.
You can take Tab Pregabaline/Gabapentine after proper prescription.
Rule out osteoporosis by Vit D3 level, bone densiometery.
Do
physiotherapy and muscle stretching
Increase intake of diary food, eggs to increase calcium in diet
Right thigh abnormal sensation could be due to cervical spondylosis. It should subside after its treatment.
Hope it will help you. Thanks. Take care.
Still in doubt, ask another question or consult doctor.
