Hello doctor Have severe pain of toes & kind of burning senasation under my whole foot (both) past 3few days. Also my left finger joints are aching past few days. Today also I kind off jogged 5 kms. Im 52 yrs old. Little worried to what this problem could be. Gout ? Or lack of Vitamin D ? Please Advise Regards Kalyan
As per your concern, in gout, the acute inflammatory arthritis is caused by excess uric acid caused by either overproduction or under-excretion. Before the age of menopause, women have a lower incidence than males, but the rates are equal above this age. Gout can cause mono- or polyarthritis, but usually results in monoarthritis first. That is first your big toe would've been affected if it were gout. Then subsequently the others. Check your blood Uric acid .If it's normal it's not gout. If you have more pain on the plantar, that is under surface of feet there is a less defined condition called burning feet syndrome. The cause is constriction of Blood Vessels. Try taking Inderal 10 mg for it. It is a blood pressure medicine but works well for the syndrome. At this dose it is sub-therapeutic for Blood pressure so your Blood Pressure will not be affected. Godspeed.
