General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I understand your concern. The lower back pain your are experiencing is referred pain from your uterus, which during the period contracts and causes pain. Some women feel it in the lower abdomen, and some in the lower back, depending on the positioning of the uterus. Although uncomfortable, it is normal and can be treated with pain killers. Tylenol (acetaminophen) and heat pads should bring you pain relief. But please avoid Advil (ibuprofen) as it increases the amount of bleeding.
Wishing you good health and all the best.
