Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Back Pain Caused Due To Vertebral Compression

I have a Lumbar Spinal Decompression issue, can t stand or walk any distance without lower back pain....I am 72 years of age .....I am also a golfer, and haven t golf in the last two years......have had decompression therapy for two months and Acupuncture for 6 weeks......and have got no relief ....e-rays shoe that my 5th vertebral is compressed.......what is your suggestion ????

It is sad to know what you have been facing lately. Actually the issue you mentioned has unfortunately been source of long term morbidity and no therapy has been shown to have cent per cent efficacy.

Since quite some work up has been done, so I am sure you must have been done using analgesics and anti inflammatory medicines already. Now I am afraid the last resort may neurosurgery of spine which has shown benefits in many individuals. If it is compression causing problem then decompression surgery to release the compression or if fused or collapsed vertebrae is the case then artificial implants have to be done. Meanwhile keep using pain relieving measures.
