Suggest Treatment For Severe Headaches

My husband has been experiencing severe headaches for 3 weeks. He went to the doctor on Friday had some labs done and a CT of his head we are waiting for the results. Tonight he has had a headache, nose bleed in which he filled a Dr. Pepper bottle half way full of blood, his right eye is blurry, he is experiencing shortness of breath, facial flushing, dizziness, and his heart rate is 60. We are both EMT s he will not go to the ER so please don t tell me to take him there can you please give me some advice as to what could possibly be going on?

Hello !
I read your question and understand your concern.
I would like to know if you have measured his blood pressure during these episodes, because an untreated high blood pressure can cause severe headaches and nose bleeding. The facial flushing and dizziness are other symptoms of a possible uncontrolled high blood pressure. In this situation my concern would be a possible intracranial hemorrhage.
I would recommend you to measure his blood pressure and bring him to the emergency room. I don't think this is a normal primary headache.
Another option would be cluster headache and temporal artheritis . Temporal artheritis is more possible taking into consideration the blurring vision in the right eye,but it doesn't explain the bleeding nose. A full blood work for inflammation would be necessary to exclude it.
Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes ! Dr. Abaz Quka
