Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache

I recently had a mra/mri of brain and the report says, No aneurysm, stenosis or vascular cutoff. It also says Absence of the A1 segment on the right and Posterior communicating arteries are congenitally absent whats this mean? I went to have these tests after experiencing a severe headache that last for 2 weeks

Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern.
The MR angiography of brain revealed

: Absence of right A 1 (Anterior cerebral artery) - It means your both brain anterior parts are getting supply from left A1 (ACA). It is known as "Azygous ACA". It is a normal anomaly (Variation from normal population). However there is always more chance of aneurysm formation on azygous ACA.
There is no method by which we can decrease the risk. No need to do regular follow up investigations for it. You should avoid smoking/cocaine/alcohol/high BP to decrease risks of aneurysm.

: Absence of posterior communicating artery is very common finding. It does not increase any risk of aneurysm or any other disease. It is congenital anomaly.
Absence of it means posterior part of brain is totally supplied by posterior circulation that is vertebral arteries.

Hope I have mentioned all details what you wanted to know. Thanks, take care.
If still in doubt, ask another question.
