Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache And Dizziness
My son banged the back of his head really bad a week and a half ago and a soft squishy large lump instantly formed with a horrible black and blue mark that is just fading. This all happened on a hunting trip so he did not seek medical attention. Since then he tells me that if he shakes his head he gets really dizzy or if he swings on swings he gets extremely dizzy. He also stated that when he plays football with his friends and gets tackled he gets a headache and dizzy. He is also complaining that he will get random headaches during the day. Lastly the lump is still present only hard now. My feeling is that he obtained a concussion and this is the lasting effects? My concern is could he have a bleed in or has too much time gone by?
I will need more information to guide you further. That is when did your son sustained head injury, was there any period of loss of consciousness, was there any seizure, vomiting, disorientation. If he didn't have above symptoms he is unlikely to have severe problem. However it is better to get a CT brain to rule out intracranial haemrhage.Check for any ear discharge or ear infection as it can also lead to headache and dizziness.
Hope the answer has helped you.
