Suggest Treatment For Severe Diarrhea And Dehydration

Hello everyone! Last week I had severe diarrhea due to over taking of laxatives that cause me dehydration. I eventually went to the hospitals and treated the dehydration. I took blood test and while I didn t pay attention to it at the time, I had a 1.05 creatinine leaves and 6BUN. I don t believe I ate much that day. Flash forward a couple of days. I started having severe left kidney pains that eventually stopped hurting but still some small pains. Last night I was trying to go to sleep and felt pains all through my body to the point it would hit me and wake me up. I went to the ER today and long story short, I have a 1.14 creatinine leaves and 13 bun, which is still normal but I noticed the increase. They did CT scans and a ultrasound and found nothing wrong with my kidneys. Yesterday I went to the doctor and had the same test taken without eating or drinking. Those test results don t come to next week. Has anyone experienced this before? I am a bit nervous about potential kidney failure.

Hello!
Related your concern you should know that dehydration caused from severe diarrhea can lead to acute renal function impairment. So recommended that during a severe diarrhea you might take a lot of fluid and if necessary iv. perfusion to raise the volume of the liquids in your body as you have done. In your case the renal test look like normal and CT scan and ultrasound found nothing wrong in your kidneys so you should be calm because for the moment you don't have a kidney failure.
I hope my answer help you.
