Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough, Fever And Cold

hello. 4 days ago I started to feel like I was getting a cold as I had a terrible cough and a low grade fever. after coughing terribly, my sternum, up high, is now terribly sore and I have lost my voice. during these 4 days my fever has went from low grade to around 101 and my sinuses are terrible. could the loss of voice and chest pain be caused from all of this and is this something that I should be concerned with or could it just be the common cold/flu?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms of cold, cough, fever, chest pain, sinus congestion and loss of voice or Laryngitis seems to be due to either severe respiratory tract infection or Influenza or Flu..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture, sputum culture etc can help in diagnosis..
In case of viral infection, the infection does not resolve with medication as the antivirals are not effective and the symptoms subside once the virus complete its cycle..
You can start supportive treatment like take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, take decongestants like Phenylephrine, mucolytics like Ambroxol, anti allergics like Benadryl, take cough expectorants containing Guifenesin..
Do warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
You can suck throat lozenges and chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
Sip on warm water and other warm liquids like soups and broath..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
