I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture,sputum culture etc can help in diagnosis.. In case of viral infection, the infection does not resolve with medication as the antivirals are not effective and the symptoms subside once the virus complete its cycle.. You can start supportive treatment like take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, take decongestants like Phenylephrine, mucolytics like Ambroxol, anti allergics like Benadryl, take cough expectorants containing Guifenesin.. Do warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room.. You can suck throat lozenges and chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
