Suggest Treatment For Severe Constipation

Respected Doc. Hi I am 65 year old male using Ecosprin av 75 for last 1 Year. I have suger Fasting random 250 and BP. 150/76. After taking the said medicin suffering for seviour constipation and not getting any remidi. Please suggest me for over comming the problem.

I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
For good bowel movements the following are to be done -
1. Take high fiber diet that includes lot of vegetables and fruits. You can take fiber supplements like metamucil.
2. Drink lot of fluids
3. Adequate physical activity - 30 minutes of brisk walking everyday.

Since you are 63 years old I would advise you to get a colonoscopy done.
You also need to control your blood glucose level as diabetes with poor control itself can cause constipation.
