Suggest Treatment For Severe Cold In An Infant

Hello doc..my baby is 22 days old..he has motions since birth my pedia say its normal till 3 months..right now my babyis suffering from cold for that doc has prescribed medicine whivh Im giving him..but too heis crying so loudly not able to undrrstnd pls help

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your infant have symptoms of severe cold which seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection which is leading to sinusitis as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid intake of cold liquids. You should take green tea every morning. You should take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin and antihistamine Levocetirizine for 3-4 days. You should give child plenty of fluids to maintain hydration You should give steam inhalation as well. Visit pediatrician once if symptoms keeps on persisting and get blood tests done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe antibacterial medication depending on cause.
