Suggest Treatment For Severe Chronic Constipation

My 83 year father has severe chronic constipation, our lives at home now revolve with his extreme mood swings due to this constipation . He has recently had a heart pace maker. Takes Lactulose, Laxedo. He did not open bowels for Ten days so my mum gave him Kayam churna which finally did the trick. But we are back to normal constipated state. He is borderline diabetic, careful eater, strict vegetarian and he has at least two or three fruits a day. Slow pottering around house due to mobility problems. Any advice
