Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain And Cramps

Three weeks ago, I went to the ER because I was having cramps in my stomach. They extended down so that it felt like my abdomen was going to explode. This pain lasted more than three hours. They did a sonogram and everything came back fine (they thought it was my gall bladder). I had previously been diagnosed with IBS. When I went to a follow up visit at my doctor, the NP told me to try a gluten free diet. I have been on one since then, and everything was fine. On Saturday, and then again, today, I have had a pain in my stomach - similar to, but not the same as the pain that sent me to the ER. This one goes around my sides along with pain in the stomach area. I am confused about what it could be.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi. I suggest that you take these three medications - Pantoprazole, Itopride and Mebeverine. You need to take them 3 times a day before meals to be effective against IBS. I suggest that you keep some Buscopan tablets handy in case you get an attack of stomach pain again, to prevent another trip to the ER. Thanks, Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
