I had repeated problems of sore throat and fever for past few years Doctor diagnosed as septic tonsillitis and i underwent tonsillectomy Now after 2 months of tonsillectomy sore throat is still there Have been taking pantaprazole even since a month to rule out GERD but there has been no relief What can be the diagnosis

hello,thanks for your query, for chronic pharyngitis(SORE THROAT) , THERE ARE SEVERAL REASONS like allergy, sinusitis, gastric reflux or voice abuse, smoking, alcohol. no doubt tonsillectomy reduces the episodes of sore throat. but you need to see other abnormalities causing your sore throat. kindly evaluate with an ent surgeon.mean time you can start salt water gargling. hope i have answered your query. all the best. take care.
