Suggest Treatment For Seizures During Bowel Movement
my daughter has been having seizures since birth, known condition, but recently she is having seizures after or during bowel movements, she is now 18 years old. On seizure med, and has a vagal nerve stimulator, every time she has a bowel movement causes seizures, movement is soft, so she is not straining as far as I can tell, could it be the stimulator, as the vagus nerve runs to the stomach and intestines? any ideas will help please. I really appreciate your concern, if this is the epileptic seizure then it is being well controlled with the medicines but convulsion at the time of defecation is very weird and it may be new phenomenon, it may not be due to the epilepsy, of course it may be convulsive disorders, more or less it could be hysteric type of fit, I would suggest to discuss it with neurologist, or with neuropsychologist hope this information helps.
