In the current scenario, you need a complete work up that includes a complete blood count, urinalysis, hormone assay, sonogram of the pelvis preferably in the trans-vaginal route and an endometrial biopsy. Infections, general and local, should be ruled out through proper clinical evaluation. Pap smear and swabs from the vagina and cervix are to be done. There are several causes for such menstrual irregularity. Sudden weight disturbances, stress, infections, cysts of the ovary and certain medications are some of them.
