Hi my child has sum sores in her head that look like bumps at first with pose in them then they have turned into scabs but they r now starting to spread is it ok for me to us some clotrimazole cream on her head to treat what ever this may be. I have another child that had the same problem before
Clotrimazole is an antifungal and wont help much in this case.
I would keep a possibility of scalpfolliculitis. In my practice I usually prescribe an oral antibiotic (penicillin group) for a week along with a topical antibacterial ointment twice daily (OTC 2% mupirocin would do).
take care regards
