Suggest Treatment For Scabies

Hello, I have scabies.. I bought the 1% otc creme and applied it last night. I washed all the bedding, all the clothes. Everything with hot water. I did the treatment last night, today I work up worst than yesterday... I am going to do the treatment today again. Do I need to wash all the sheets again. Also I am drinking Benadryl for the itching. Anything else I can use to relieve he itching and to help me get rid of this!! Please help

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have scabies .The symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like allergic reaction ,side effect , sensitivity to sunlight ,eczema and psoriasis , Well scabies is a skin infestation caused by a tiny microscopic bug known as the human itch mite . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Rash and burrows are the main signs that doctors use to determine if you have a scabies infestation. Doctor may take skin sample for lab test , sample is examined under a microscope to confirm the presence of mites or eggs . Doctor may prescribe 5 percent permethian cream , 25 percent benzyl benzoate lotion and percent sulfur ointment . For now apply cold compresses on rashes to reduce redness and itchiness , stay away from potential allergens and take benadryl .
