Suggest Treatment For Scab On The Ankle

I have had a wound on my ankle for almost 6 months that refused to heal perhaps due to my diabetic condition. It started to heal and formed a scab which has turned out very dry but this has been there for a few months . No pain no soreness as when the wound was not healing & I can not find any signs of strangeness.. The scab looks normal but is this something I should be worried about??

Normal wounds heal by forming scars n scabs but that usually takes a week to form n shed away in a month or so depending on size n extent. Diabetes is obviously a delaying factor. U should look if there is any purulent discharge or pale yellow granulation tissue formation. If yes then get them dressed. Also u need to monitor ur blood sugar fasting n p.p . HbA1c levels gives a good idea about long term control. If u want further assessment then u can get color Doppler of limbs done. They will tell u about your blood flow. Also if u haven't got tetanus shots I recommend u get them asap
