Suggest Treatment For Sarcoidosis

I was dg with Sarcoidosis in Feb of this year. My drs are discussing whether to start me on steroids. I am 58 yrs old, and I had a complete hysterectomy at age 35. I have been having hot flashes like the yr after the surg. Does this make any sense?

Hello
Sarcoidosis : An inflammatory multisystem disease which may presentw/no-specific symptoms related organ-specific involvement (means presence of noncaseating granulomas of unknown etiology.
You mentioned that you are a patient of sarcoidosis ,but didn't mention symptoms or which organs are involved.
As sarcoidosis may remit spontaneously , treatment is based largely on the levels of symptoms and extent of organ involvement .
When systemic therapy is indicated , GLUCOCORTICOIDS are the mainstay of therapy .
Other immunomodulatory agents have been used or severe cases or when prednisolone can't be tapered.
Hot flashes may be due to hormonal imbalance or stress related to disease.
When your treating doctors want to start steroid , start at once , this will help you .
Hope this will be useful for you.
