Suggest Treatment For Ruptured And Bleeding Cyst In Ovary
Hi so for the past 7 years ive suffered from ruptured ovarian cysts but only on my left side. Two days ago I went in for lower abdominal pain and pelvic pain. I had a fever as well. They did an ultra sound and found I had a cyst rupture on my left ovary with bleeding. The er gave me pain meds and sent me home. I have an apt tomorrow with my ob. what do I do?
Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern. Ovarian cystic rupture are managed conservatively by Pain killer like Advil or narcoticanalgesic. taking plenty of water like 8-12 glasses of water. Doing serial imaging, ultrasound and examination if the bleeding still persist or patient become hemodynamically unstable or serious at the start then surgery is indicated. Three types of surgery are done, starting from simple suturing, cautery, wedge resection. Oophorectomy or salphingoophorectomy. If you were managed conservatively successfully you have to take oral contraceptives if it was functional cyst. Once the acute resolved workup should be done to differentiate between functional cysts, benign or malignant. Hope it helps best.
