Suggest Treatment For Ringworm On The Arm

i have a ringworm on my arm (its small) and i put clear nail polish over it and let it stay for about 2 days and took it off. then my arm started to randomly itch a little so i put calamine lotion on it for the itching. i was wondering if calamine lotion can also help with ringworm since it dries out the skin like nail polish dries over the skin.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Ringworm is a fungal infection. I would suggest that you seek an appointment with a dermatologist in your region for a confirmatory diagnosis

Else you may try using an OTC antifungal e.g 1% clotrimazole cream, twice daily for 2-4 weeks. However, if it does'nt respond to clotrimazole cream then you must visit a dermatologist for a review of the diagnosis.

Nail polish or Calamine won't have any effect whatsoever on ringworm.
