Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my dtr. has been diagnosed with RA in almost every joint In her body. she is 51. Recently her doctor has suggested she have surgery in her feet to relieve the pain, the suggestion is that the bones running along the top of her foot will be broken and then set, she will have to be completely off her feet for up to 2 months, then have the other foot done. I have never heard of this type of surgery for RA. Have you?
ican not coment on surgery. as iknow aspirin is the drug of choice for such problem. steroid though create problem but hydrocotisone can be given for short duration with tappering. chloroquin has also been used but have to be given for log time with problem of bulls eye posibility. so iwill sugest all posible treatment then surgery. how ever you can take second opinion on the sugested surgery.
