Suggest Treatment For Retinal Tear With Near Sightedness

Hi I am a 13 year old african american girl and I have some problems with my eyes I am nearsighted and I just recently went to the optamologist. MY eye docter told me because of the ways my eyes are shaped i might be at risk for a retinal tear. And recently my eyes cant seem to focus very well on anything I have to strain my eyes they itch a lot more to my left eye is the worst. Do you know what could be wrong?

You have myopia( near sightedness), myopic eyes tend to grow bigger than normal size especially around puberty age. Because of increasing size vitreous and retinal undergo degeneration. Hence you are prone to retinal tear and detachment. Regular follow up with retinal examination these can be detected early and managed.

Regarding strain and itching is due to uncorrected power or irregular use of correction/lens. Get good correction and use regularly, your symptoms will improve.
