Suggest Treatment For Reoccurring Chest Pain

About a year ago I went to the dr. for reoccuring chest pain. I had it frequently and I thought it may be gallbladder. I went to the dr. several times. They did several test. EKG, chest xray, and gallbladder ultrasound. All of which came back fine. The doctor decided it was probably a pulled muscle in my chest. It seemed to go away for several months and now it's back. I was sick several weeks ago and had a really bad cough. I coughed one time and it felt like it pulled a muscle in my chest and ever since then it started back up. I coughed again yesterday and it pulled again. Now tonight I have it really bad. It feels like the pain goes in front of my heart and then a pain in my shoulder blade. Do you think it is only a pulled muscle. Sometimes it is very sharp and sometimes it's not too bad.

Thanks,

Lindsey

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more likely but better to rule out cardiac chest pain first.
So get done ecg and 2d echo.
If both are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases.
Apply warm water pad on affected areas. Avoid movements causing pain. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
Take simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these but first rule out heart diseases.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
