Suggest Treatment For Redness On Tongue Of A 3 Year Old

Hello, my name is Marissa and my 3 year old has strep throat about 2 weeks ago. He finished his medicine(amoxicillin) this past Monday. He s had no fever or acted sick but still has strawberry tongue, as they call it. It doesn t seem to hurt him at all like before but I am a little concerned if I should take him back to his doctor?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain Strawberry tongue can occur in cases of Scarlet fever which is a strep infection, Kawasaki's Disease, Vitamin B12 deficiency.
You should consult a Paediatrician and get him evaluated and treatment can be planned according to the cause.
Antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicines[ steroids], oral and intravenous fluids and rest can help in relieving..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
